This is something I have wanted to do for quite some time. It has only taken a global pandemic to get me to finally sit down and suss how to actually tackle it. The sourdough. 

This is a delicious artisan bread which has so much texture and body that it will keep you full for hours. A smashing sandwich option for a pack up or tasty toast in the morning to set you up for the day ahead. 

This does take some prep so check out how the whole recipe before diving in.


To make the 'mother' I followed the Happy Pear's recipe as it didn't seem to over complicate anything. Rather than me regurgitating that I will just pop the video link below. All recipes seem easier these days with a video right? To see the starter stop the video after 4 minutes as I found their second video on how to make the bread itself much easier than the one at the tail end of this video.

I have the link below to the sourdough bread making part. We didn't have the 'Dutch Oven' we just used a casserole dish with a lid! Simple. As you can see I also had no proofing basket but it really doesn't matter. It is just bread after all!
